British medals for swimmers

CHRISTOPHER Marshall of Crieff and Allison Bett of Perth proudly display their medals after competing in the British Downs Syndrome Swimming Competition held in Reading.

Christopher, who swims with Crieff Stingrays and Perth Dolphins, and Allison, who swims with Perth Dolphins, attended as part of a Scottish contingent which included swimmers from the west of Scotland as well as Eskdale and Annandale.

Christopher won three silver medals, one each for 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 4x25m freestyle relay.

Allison won a bronze in the 50m backstroke and placed fourth in the 50m freestyle.

Both Allison and Christopher will be representing Tayside at next year’s British Special Olympics to be held in Leicester, while later this year Christopher will be swimming as part of the GB team attending the World Downs Syndrome Swimming Championships being held in Portugal.
